About this file
This bulk asbestos analysis report details the results of sampling and testing for asbestos-containing materials in flooring samples from Building 1906. Laboratory analysis identified chrysotile asbestos in the floor tile and mastic layers of all six samples collected from the building's downstairs and upstairs hallways, closets, and doorways. The report provides the sample identification numbers, descriptions of sample layers, and percentage compositions determined through polarized light microscopy.
The related federal contract opportunity solicits proposals for the demolition of Buildings 5022 and 1906. The magnitude of services required is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000, and the acquisition is set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. An organized site visit will take place on December 20, 2021, and offerors are directed to clauses addressing instructions, conditions, notices, and evaluation factors. Proposals are due by the date specified in the solicitation, which was not provided. The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is the contracting agency.

RE: Asbestos Samples
Bulk Asbestos Analysis Report
The microscopy department of Micro-Methods Laboratory received samples on 01/10/2022. The objective of this analysis was to determine the presence of asbestos using polarized light microscopy (PLM) and to determine the percent of asbestos and non-asbestos fibrous components by calibrated visual area estimation. Analytical results are summarized on the following laboratory report.
