ANSWER: The original sources sought notice was posted to FedBizOpps on 16 Mar 07 with solicitation number/special identifier 45SWSS001, NAICS Code of 485999 – All other transit and Ground Passenger Transportation. This NAICS Code was selected due to the fact that greatest portion of the required effort was ground passenger transportation in support of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The NASA requirement was removed which prompted a revised sources sought notice on 27 Aug 07, using solicitation number FA2521-07-R-8506. The revised requirement greatest effort is Vehicle Maintenance. Therefore, the appropriate NAICS Code 811111 – General Automotive Repair was selected. Our Small Business Office, Major Command Headquarters, and Legal Office fully support the use of NAICS Code 811111. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has stated contractors that do not have the appropriate NACIS Code 811111 may request it via the Central Contractor Registration. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about the size standard.
