APPENDIX C13
UHF COMMAND GUIDANCE SYSTEMS
1.0 PURPOSE.
2.0
The purpose of the UHF Command Guidance Systems is to provide signals to control and terminate munitions, drones, and UAVs.
2.1. The primary UHF Command Guidance System capabilities at Eglin are located at fixed locations TS A-3 (reference Appendix C12) and TS D-3 (reference Appendix C11).
GENERAL.
2.2. TS A-3 has fixed systems and a mobile system that can be operated remotely from CCF.
Additionally, the mobile system can be operated as a standalone system using local control.
These systems are addressed in Appendix C12.
2.3 TS D-3 has fixed systems that can be operated remotely from the CCF or Tyndall AFB and is addressed in Appendix C11.
2.4. All UHF Command Guidance Systems, including associated communications links, supporting missions operate on generator power. Commercial power is used for backup power.
2.5. UHF Command Guidance System monitoring is located at TS A-6. (reference Appendix C4)
3.0
3.1. The Contractor shall operate and maintain the UHF Command Guidance Systems at TS A- 3 and TS D-3 including:
CAPABILITIES.
3.1.1. UHF command guidance systems (a primary set and a secondary set) at TS A-3 transmit and monitor control and terminate signals. The transmitter equipment includes encoders, exciters, amplifiers, and omni and directional antennas. The monitoring equipment includes UHF receivers, decoders, and event recorders.
3.1.2 The mobile UHF command guidance system transmits and monitors control and terminate signals. The transmitter equipment includes encoders, exciters, amplifiers, and an omni antenna. The monitoring equipment includes UHF receivers, decoders, and event recorders.
3.1.3 UHF command guidance systems (a primary set and a secondary set) at TS D-3 transmit and monitor control and terminate signals. The transmitter equipment includes encoders, exciters, amplifiers, and omni and directional antennas. The monitoring equipment includes UHF receivers, decoders, and event recorders.
3.2. The Contractor shall provide UHF Command Guidance support IAW tasks and test directives.
