About this file

This document is an Attachment G.V to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Inadvertent Discovery of Unmarked Burials at Ellington Air Force Base (AFB) in Houston, Texas. The SOP applies to various organizations and personnel at the base, including installation leadership, training site managers, civil engineers, security police, and unit commanders. The SOP describes the procedures to be followed in the event of an inadvertent discovery of cultural artifacts, including unmarked burials or Native American cemeteries, during ground-disturbing activities such as construction, maintenance, or training exercises. The related state and local contract opportunity is for the repair of the existing radio frequency (RF) cable at the 35 localizer located at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas. The Texas Military Department (TMD), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) 147th Attack Wing is seeking to manually trench and remove the previously damaged RF heliax cable and replace it with 150 linear feet of new cable and conduits at Building 1452.
