About this file

The document is an Enclosure outlining Safety Oversight for Off-Site Remediation Work for the DOE ARM Climate Research Facility's Southern Great Plains (SGP) Site. Argonne will subcontract disassembly and removal work at 5 specific site locations in Oklahoma (Billings, Garber, Nardin, Tonkawa, and Lamont), involving radar dismantling, recycling, and site remediation. The scope includes removing infrastructure like concrete foundations, shipping containers, trailers, fencing, and performing earthwork.

Safety oversight will be managed through a collaborative team including SGP Project Investigators/Technical Representatives, SGP Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) Coordinator, and a WSE Construction Safety Subject Matter Expert. Key safety requirements include adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, obtaining OKIE dig permits, conducting daily site visits, reviewing safety documentation, and performing safety inspections. The work involves multiple tasks such as radar disassembly, structure removal, underground electrical work, civil infrastructure removal, and site preparation to facilitate future agricultural operations. The project is part of DOE Office of Science solicitation 5-S176-P-00210-00, with a desired completion date of September 30, and includes a pre-proposal meeting on July 14, 2025, and an on-site visit on July 17, 2025.
