About this file
This is a Conflict of Interest Policy document applicable to the city jurisdiction and its public servants. The policy establishes disclosure requirements and standards of conduct for the Mayor, City Council Members, City Clerk, elected members of the Board of Police Commissioners, appointive officers, appointees, employees, and contractors. The primary purpose of the policy is to ensure that governmental decisions are made in the public's best interest by prohibiting public servants from participating in matters that directly affect their personal or financial interests.
The policy requires affected individuals to sign a conflict of interest statement acknowledging their understanding and acceptance of these requirements. Organizations responding to contract opportunities with the city must paste the conflict of interest language on their organizational letterhead and have authorized representatives sign the statement as part of their bid or proposal submission.
