About this file

This is a pricing schedule document for a landscape and mowing services contract issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Southwest Region / Kalamazoo Transportation Service Center. The contract covers grounds maintenance services at the Carpool Lot located at M-40 and I-94 in Paw Paw, Van Buren County. Services requested include mowing, string trimming, blowing grass cuttings from parking lots, and removing and disposing of debris and litter on approximately 1.15 acres of green space, with an estimated 30 occasions per year for regular mowing and one occasion per year for spring cleanup. The contract has a base term of two years with no renewal options, commencing April 1, 2026, and concluding March 31, 2028. The carpool lot operates 24/7, and work scheduling is determined by the Program Manager or Construction Contract Inspector.

Bidders are required to submit unit prices for each service occasion in the designated pricing column, with the spreadsheet automatically calculating annual and two-year costs. Contractors must provide their own reliable commercial equipment including mowers, string trimmers, and blowers, which must be owned and available at contract start with no reliance on anticipated purchases or rentals. Equipment failure is not acceptable as grounds for schedule deviation, and contractors are responsible for providing backup service in case of mechanical breakdown and for any property damage incurred during performance. Invoices should be submitted to Jennifer Simmons at simmonsj9@michigan.gov, with the Contract Administrator being ReChelle Kendrick (517-335-5905) and Program Manager Mike Streeter (269-217-7785).
