About this file
This is a Bid Bond template document issued by the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, for use in conjunction with the Office Paper Products solicitation (IFB-26-172). The bid bond serves as a guarantee that qualified vendors submitting bids will enter into a written contract with the City if awarded and will furnish the required performance bond within ten consecutive calendar days after written notice of award. The bond amount is set at five percent of the total bid price, and vendors must submit this certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond with their sealed bid submission by the April 28, 2026 deadline at 3:00 p.m. The contract will be awarded to a single vendor for an initial three-year term, with the City reserving the right to renew for two additional one-year periods under mutually agreed terms.
The bid bond document requires execution by both the Principal (bidding vendor) and the Surety, with the Principal's signature witnessed by either the Principal's seal and corporate attestation or two witness signatures. The Surety must be represented by an Attorney-in-Fact holding a Florida license, with documentation of power of attorney attached. If the Principal fails to execute the contract and furnish the required performance bond (equal to 100 percent of the bid amount) within the specified timeframe, the bid bond amount becomes due and payable to the City as liquidated damages. This requirement ensures serious intent among bidders and protects the City's interests in the procurement process.
