This document provides details for a Broad Agency Announcement solicitation seeking proposals related to Composite Airframe Life Extension technology. The Air Force Research Laboratory is soliciting proposals to identify, develop, demonstrate and validate technologies to allow for the safe extension of certified service lives of existing military aircraft containing advanced composite primary structures. Specifically, proposals are sought to develop methods to accurately determine and predict the residual strength, durability, damage tolerance and reliability of aged composite materials and structures throughout the original and any extended service life of aircraft airframes without requiring wholesale replacement of components. Proposals are requested to address predictive analytics technologies to assess the ongoing airworthiness of composite structures over the operational lifetimes of aircraft.
