About this file
This Broad Agency Announcement solicits proposals to develop tools for assessing the durability and damage tolerance of fastened composite joints. The Air Force Research Laboratory's Aerospace Systems Directorate seeks methods and models to evaluate the performance of composite structures joining composite panels through fasteners. Proposals are due by February 12, 2016 and the reference information for offerors is available until that date by contacting the program engineer, Richard Holzwarth. The goal of the Composite Airframe Life Extension program is to identify technologies allowing certification of existing aircraft with composite primary structures beyond original service life limits without extensive retesting or replacement of aged components.
