About this file

This document outlines material requirements to support food services and culinary training programs. The Culinary Institute of America will provide four students annually with uniforms including aprons, hats, chef jackets, backpacks, cutting boards, face masks, and thermometers. An additional eight students will receive similar items for a joint military food service award program. The institute will also supply items including smocks, aprons, hats, binders, books, calculators, knives, peelers, sharpeners, shears, thermometers, and kitchen equipment to support classroom and food production facilities for up to 10 students per cooking class. The total costs for all food items were $9,038 in 2018, $9,784 in 2019, and $3,898 in 2020 due to reduced classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A draft solicitation from the Military Sealift Command seeks to provide food services and logistics training. Interested parties can provide feedback on the performance work statement, contract structure, and evaluation criteria until 8 March 2024. This pre-solicitation notice allows industry to ask questions to promote competition for the future solicitation.
