About this file
This document outlines insurance requirements for a federal construction contract solicitation. The solicitation requires various types of insurance including workers compensation of $100,000, comprehensive general liability of $500,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, comprehensive automobile liability of $200,000 per person and $500,000 per accident for bodily injury and $20,000 for property damage, and aircraft public and passenger liability. Before commencing work, the contractor must certify in writing that the required insurance has been obtained, and policies must contain an endorsement that any cancellation or material change will not take effect for the period prescribed by state law or 30 days after notice is given to the contracting officer, whichever is longer. The contractor must maintain proof of insurance and provide copies to the contracting officer upon request, including for any subcontractors.
The related federal contract opportunity is to demolish and remove existing exterior and interior lighting systems and install new lighting at the 177th Fighter Wing in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The 100% small business set-aside solicitation requires demolition of exterior site lighting, poles, and exterior building lighting, and provision and installation of new exterior and interior munitions bunker facility lighting. The magnitude of construction is between $500,000 to $1 million. Bid, payment, and performance bonds are required for all proposals and contracts over $150,000. Bidders must interpret documents to resolve any discrepancies and bring deficiencies to the attention of the contracting officer prior to submitting a bid.
