About this file
This is an Asbestos Inspection Report for Building AS217 at MCB Camp Lejeune, dated August 14, 2025. The building, constructed in 1954 and currently occupied as an Administration facility, has been assigned a hazard ranking of 0/Blue with no asbestos-containing materials (ACM) identified during the initial April 2007 assessment. A subsequent renovation conducted circa 2005/2006 included additional sampling that confirmed no ACM presence.
The report documents multiple asbestos-containing materials that were identified and tested as non-friable ACM or removed materials, including 12" white and beige floor tiles with adhesive, base cove/mastic, 2'x2' ceiling tiles, stair treads, pipe insulation, sealants, built-up roofing, and gypsum board walls with joint compound. These materials are located throughout the building across rooms 100-320, stairs 1-3, and mechanical spaces, with initial identification dates ranging from September 1999 to April 2007. All collected samples tested negative for asbestos content (0% chrysotile, amosite, and other asbestos types), with the exception of one built-up roofing sample that contained 9% asbestos. The Camp Lejeune Asbestos Program Manager (910-451-5837) maintains custody of the survey and conducts periodic inspections. Building occupants are instructed to avoid disturbance of any remaining materials and report any damage or changes in material condition to the Program Manager.
