About this file
This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for Personnel Recruitment Advertisement (DI-MISC-81311A), approved on 08 NOV 2006. The document provides detailed guidelines for creating print or broadcast media recruitment advertisements targeting specific career fields including engineering, computer science, foreign languages, mathematics, operations research, telecommunications, cryptology, and management support functions.
The DID outlines comprehensive requirements for recruitment advertisements, including the need for a working outline with details like advertisement title, program objectives, content summary, length specifications, visual aids, and distribution methods. The contractor must develop preliminary and final advertisement drafts, which require government approval. The goal is to stimulate interest and attract qualified talent through creative and innovative recruitment approaches, supporting various programs such as cooperative education, university recruitment, affirmative action, and recruiting prior military personnel. All media programs must be coordinated to reflect a unified approach while maintaining the individual effectiveness of each media channel.
