About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding an amendment to a federal contract solicitation for dry dock services for the USCGC VIGOROUS. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 70Z080-20-Q-P45A4100 for dry dock services on the USCGC VIGOROUS in fiscal year 2020. Question:
Work Item 25: The government did not provide an answer for: Paragraph 3.4 directs the contractor to, "renew all valves and the remote operation hardware".
What specifically is the government considering to be "the remote operation hardware"?
Answer :
Remote Operated Hardware is the physical hardware required to operate the valve(s) remotely, whether by Reach Rod or electronic.
Question:
Work Item 25: In Amendment 017 the government indicated that "If deck boxes were found to be faulty it would include them".
This is not an acceptable requirement. The contractor has no way of knowing without an in-depth inspection, whether or not the deck boxes would need replacement.
Will the government handle the replacement of remote operation hardware, to include the deck boxes on a Change Request after inspection?
Answer:
A CR is adequate method unless it has already been called out in the specification, we understand the full extent cannot be known until after an inspection has been completed.
