WA pacific 2015(2) Public Access Enhancement to Willapa National Wildlife Refuge Phase II

# General Technical Question Answer Date

1 X Please advise where the 120 lineal feet of utility trench reference in bid item A0640 is shown on the plans. See Section F of the plan set. Bid accordingly 1/12/22

2 X

Thank you for the quick response, but this does not answer my question. I will try to clarify below.

I am familiar with Section F of the plan set. To be more specific:

‐ 2” waterline is shown on plan sheet F.2 and paid under bid item A0340 ‐ 4” sewer line is shown on plan sheet F.2 and paid under bid item A0360 ‐ Cleanout is shown on plan sheet F.2 and paid under bid item A0380 *** the utility trench bid item A0640 of 120lf is not shown on the plans and I am trying to figure out what exactly this is for and where it is on the plans.

Will be address under Amendment A001 1/13/22

3 X I have been getting questions from our concrete subcontractors needing clarification if Alkali‐silica reactivity (ASR) testing will be required for the concrete work and/or precast concrete wheel stops?

yes, please bid accordingly 1/14/22

4 X Is it possible to place spoils over the north bank behind the existing buildings show on Sheet F‐2? No. See FP‐14 Subsection 204.14. 1/20/22

5 X Please provide clarification on the 40 hours of backhoe work?

See Subsection 622.01 of the Special Contract Requirements.

1/20/22

6 X Can one 3 inch lift of asphalt concrete pavement be placed instead of two 1.5 inch lifts of asphalt concrete pavement? No. See Sheets C.1 & C.2 of the plans. 1/20/22

7 X The specs call for paving the 3” of asphalt concrete pavement in two equal lifts. Will we be allowed to pave in 1 ‐ 3" lift?

No. See Sheets C.1 & C.2 of the plans. 1/20/22

8 X Can the excavated gravel on the roadway be re‐used to build the base layer?

Construct the base layer according to the plans and Section 302.

1/21/22

9 X Any landscaping? See the plans and Section 625. 1/21/22

10 X Is there any asphalt repair near the entrance to the Wildlife Refuse?

See the solicitation documents for the prescribed work.

1/21/22

11 X Question about material pricing escalation – oil. Due to supply chain issues, with this project being 5‐ish months out from starting (6/20/22 start date from the bid documents), are there any escalation clauses in the event that pricing for materials increases? For asphalt paving, oil could potentially see a 5% increase.

This solicitation does not contain Adjustments for Price Fluctuations under Subsection 109.06A.

Please bid accordingly.
