About this file
This statement of work outlines requirements for the deinstallation and storage of two bust sculptures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services headquarters building in preparation for renovations, and subsequent reinstallation. The sculptures to be removed are Morris with Noel and Tito and Felicia with Violin, both from the series Homage to Medicare and Medicaid by artists John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres. A fine arts handler will safely deinstall and crate the busts for secure onsite storage, then reinstall them in locations determined by the General Services Administration after construction is complete. The handler must participate in pre-deinstallation meetings, prepare written and photographic documentation of the installation, and verify all dimensions before commencing work. Points of contact at the GSA are provided for scheduling along with other standard contract terms such as payment upon satisfactory completion.
