About this file
This document outlines a pre-bid presentation for a federal construction contract opportunity with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The project involves constructing an addition and renovations to the Joint Ambulatory Care Center in Pensacola, Florida, including adding approximately 11,730 square feet of laboratory and infusion clinic space to the existing 215,000 square foot building. Bids are due by June 21, 2023, and must be submitted electronically. The scope of work includes building the addition, upgrading chilled water systems, and adding approximately 90,000 square feet of surface parking. The pre-bid meeting agenda reviews the project overview, contractors' laydown area and phasing plan, available bid documents, and bidding procedures. A site visit and lidar scans of the property are also available to bidders. Deductive alternates are included to potentially remove scopes of work related to portions of the new parking or reduce window quantities.

Overview of ProjectOverview of Project
Project IntroductionProject Introduction The JACC building currently houses primary care services and was built to support second story additions over the North-east and South-east Corners.
This project will add ~11,730 square feet of space on to the roof of a ~215,000 SF building. The programs that are supported in this addition are CORE Laboratory Spaces, and a new infusion clinic.
In addition to the building this project has also added ~ 90,000 Square feet of surface parking spaces to the campus in locations that were originally designed to be parking but were removed from the scope of the original construction.

Chiller Addition Chiller Addition
The Chilled water System has additional Cooling Capacity if all three chillers run simultaneously, however, the Cooling Tower side is short about 50 tons. Additionally, the CHWPs and CWPs cannot handle the additional flow. Below is the implemented design solution.
CHW upgrade:
1. Add a CWP to handle the additional flow
2. Replace existing CHWP-3 to handle additional flow
3. Add an additional Cooling Tower Cell equivalent to the existing cell sizes to handle the additional load.
