1.0 BUILDING INFORMATION

Building #30 was originally constructed in 1955; renovations are evident throughout the building.

The interior floor finishes included carpet, floor tile, ceramic tile, and concrete; the interior wall finishes included gypsum wallboard, plaster, and concrete; and the interior ceiling finishes included plaster and wood. The roofing system is a peaked asphalt-shingled roof; the exterior of the structure is vinyl.

The piping systems were insulated; fiberglass insulation (without hard fittings) is located throughout the structure. HVAC systems located in the structure consisted of steam radiators.

2.0 ASBESTOS SURVEY INFORMATION

Building #30 was surveyed as part of a larger project for the VA. This report is part of “Volume

2” of a two volume series. This report includes building specific information only; please refer to the opening section of “Volume 2” for methodologies, definitions, and other pertinent supporting information.

A total of 30 samples were collected from suspect asbestos-containing materials (ACM) on

November 6, 2008 and an additional 1 sample was collected on November 13, 2008. Laboratory analysis results indicate 1 of these samples tested positive for asbestos.
