About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFI (Request for Information) addressing clarifications on a federal construction solicitation for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The document contains government responses to questions 56 through 64 submitted by prospective contractors regarding Solicitation 36C25926R0032, which involves constructing a new SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) Residential Rehabilitation Apartment in Building H at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. The proposal deadline is February 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM Mountain Time, with submissions directed to Elia-Laritza.Ruiz-Manzo@va.gov.

The Q&A document clarifies several technical and operational requirements across multiple specification sections. Key clarifications include: confirmation that the onsite superintendent can serve as Quality Control Manager (referencing prior Amendment 0001); inclusion of specification 01 35 26 for site-specific safety (detailed in Amendment 0002); confirmation that main work occurs during normal business hours with after-hours work limited to shutdowns and tie-in; preservation of existing conduit and wiring for devices noted in drawing sheets; confirmation that no new switches are required; clarification that fire extinguishers are not required for the data closet; shunt trip breaker specifications for electrical work (2-pole, 3-space GE or ABB THQB breaker with fire detection system integration); and additional details regarding the motorized, ceiling-mounted kitchen table requiring 120V dedicated power with wall-mounted controls (cross-referenced to questions 46 and 54). All prior amendments and documentation remain in effect with no changes to the proposal due date.
