Sarnareglet
Overview: Sarnareglet is a heavy-duty counterflashing used as a key component within certain flashing details for Sika Sarnafil roofing and waterproofing systems. Sarnareglet has a 2-¼ in (57 mm) deep profile and is provided in 10 ft (3.05 m) lengths. Sarnareglet is 0.10 in - 0.12 in (2.5 mm - 3 mm) thick and weighs 3 lbs (1.4 kg) per 10 ft (3.05 m) length.
Composition: Sarnareglet is produced from 6063T5 extruded aluminum and is provided with predrilled holes at 8 in (20 cm) o.c. for attachment to walls or curbs.
The holes are symmetrically offset from the ends of the Sarnareglet and are slotted to allow for thermal expansion and contraction.
Installation: A passive sealant bed is first applied to the wall or high curb according to Sika Sarnafil’s Detail Drawings. The membrane flashing or the Sarnac-lad flashing is then installed. The Sarnareglet is positioned, leveled and fastened to the wall or curb against the top of the flashing to securely clamp the flashing in place. The primary (active) sealant is then applied onto the Sarnareglet sealant shelf and rolled/feathered according the sealant manufacturer’s recommendations or requirements.
Availability: Sarnareglet is available directly from Sika Sarnafil Authorized Applicators when used within a Sika Sarnafil Roofing or Waterproofing System. Con-tact Sika Sarnafil or visit our website www.sikacorp.com for further informa-tion.
Features: Sarnareglet has a unique design that optimizes caulk/sealant performance and clamping action at critical points. A “shelf” is incorporated into the ex-truded shape that fully supports the sealant bed while allowing the optimal quantity and cross sectional shape of sealant to be applied. Sarnareglet has reinforcing ribs designed to clamp the Sarnafil membrane or Sarnaclad flashing in place and to increase rigidity between fastening points. Supple-mental accessories include prefabricated splice plates to cover joints be-tween sections of Sarnareglet and pre-welded Sarnareglet 90 degree inside and outside corners.
Packaging: Sarnareglet is provided in a sealed cardboard tube weighing approximately 50 lbs (23 kg). Each tube yield 150 lineal ft (45.7 m). Each tube also con-tains 15 splice plates.
Technical: Sika Sarnafil provides technical support. Technical staff is available to advise applicators as to the proper installation method.
Maintenance: Sarnareglet requires no maintenance (the sealant does require mainte-nance).
Warranty: As a Sika Sarnafil-supplied accessory, Sarnareglet is included in Sika Sarnafil’s Standard or System Warranty.

Sarnatherm - Tapered Insulation
Overview: Sarnatherm is a rigid polyisocyanurate insulation board that comes with either a glass fiber reinforced cellulosic felt facer or coated polymer bonded glass fiber mat facer. Sarnatherm is installed directly on the roof deck or directly on the old roof surface prior to application of the Sika Sarnafil membrane. Sarnatherm with a felt facer has one marked side that can be used for hot BUR and midified bitumen. Sarnatherm with a glass mat facer CANNOT be used with hot-applied systems.
Composition: The core of Sarnatherm is isocyanurate foam. Sarnatherm with a felt facer has between 16% and 43% by weight recycled content depending on thick-ness (55% post consulmer, 45% post-industrial). Sarnatherm with a glass facer does not have any recycled content.
Sarnatherm is available in 4 ft x 4 ft (1.2 m x 1.2 m) or 4 ft x 8 ft (1.2 m x
2.4 m) sizes and various thickness depending upon the Sika Sarnafil roof system and thermal resistance requirements.
Storage: Factory applied packaging is intended only for protection during transit.
When stored outdoors or on the job site, the insulation should be stacked on pallets at least four inches above ground level and completely covered with a weatherproof covering such as a tarpaulin. The temporary factory-applied packaging should be slit or removed to prevent accumulation of condensation. Roof insulation which has become wet or damaged should be removed and replaced with solid, dry insulation.
Features: Sarnatherm is compatible with all Sarnafil membranes and systems without the use of a separation layer or an overlayment on most applications. Sar-natherm is installed in multiple layers. The tapered configuration enhances rooftop drainage.
Packaging: Sarnatherm is provided in labeled bundles that are wrapped in a protective polyethylene film for protection DURING TRANSIT ONLY. The amount of Sarnatherm per bundle varies with board thickness and type.
Installation: Sarnatherm is installed by a Sika Sarnafil Authorized Applicator. Sarna-therm may be installed either by mechanical-attachment to the roof deck with Sarnafasteners and Sarnaplates, by full attachment with low rise sprayed urethane foam or hot asphalt, or partial attachment with foam adhesive (options depend on deck type and Sika Sarnafil system to be in-stalled). Contact Sika Sarnafil regarding alternative methods of attachment.
Availability: Sarnatherm is available directly from Sika Sarnafil Authorized Applica-tors when used within a Sika Sarnafil Roofing or Waterproofing System.
Contact Sika Sarnafil or visit our website usa.sarnafil.sika.com for further information.
Warranty: As a Sika Sarnafil-supplied accessory, Sarnatherm is included in Sika Sar-nafil’s System Warranty.
Maintenance: Sarnatherm requires no maintenance. Areas of frequent rooftop traffic may require protection from damage.
