About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a federal contracting Request for Information (RFI) that addresses product substitution requirements.
RFI Question 65 inquires whether the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) would accept an Inpro Palladium door as an equal-quality alternative to Acrovyn doors for the same application. The vendor submitted a technical data sheet for the Inpro product to support the substitution request. The VA's response is definitive: "Not in consideration." This answer indicates that the VA will not entertain alternative door products and requires that Acrovyn doors be specified and provided as submitted in the original solicitation requirements. The Inpro Palladium doors, despite potentially meeting similar technical standards and certifications, are not acceptable substitutes for this procurement.

RFI Question# 65
Our door vendor can provide Acrovyn doors but also has questioned whether the VA would be open to an equal quality product that Inpro makes for the same application. Would the VA consider the Inpro option? I've attached a technical data sheet for reference.
Answer: Not in consideration.
