Solicitation - 36C25020B0030 Project: New MRI Site Prep (552-CSI-176)

RFI Tracker with VA Responses (Updated as of 06/16/2020)

KEY: RFI = Black; VA Response = Purple; Design Team Response = Blue

1. There was no Civil Drawing provided. Is there a Civil Drawing(s) for this project?

VA Response – Please refer to attachment entitled “36C25020B0030 Project Drawings (Part 1 of 4).pdf” in original solicitation.

2. Will the VA allow poured-in-place epoxy terrazzo in lieu of the sheet vinyl flooring in the MRI Room A111? The epoxy terrazzo floor has many benefits compared to the sheet vinyl. The epoxy terrazzo is a seamless, 100% bonded system which will be able to withstand the use of this room. Further, the terrazzo floor system has a compressive strength >12,000 psi at 3/8" thick. The aggregate is marble, granite, plastic, and/or glass and will not be affected by the magnetic field. The floor can be installed as a single color, or pattern could be added, if desired.

The drawing shows a large area to be depressed. This depression can be eliminated by using the epoxy terrazzo flooring. We have installed very flat floors in several existing MRI rooms without a depression. Further, we could install "rails" level for moveable MRI machines to track on.

VA Response – Poured-in-place epoxy terrazzo will not be allowed in lieu of specified sheet vinyl flooring in MRI Room A111.

3. What is code note 19 on drawing ES2.0?

VA Response – Refer to drawing provided in solicitation.

6. Solicitation, item 13 SF 1442 The solicitation calls for sealed offers (original and a copy) to be delivered to the Kettering OH address as per item 13 of the SF 1442. In light of the current COVID 19 situation, would the VA consider accepting emailed proposals instead of the hard bid submission?

7. Solicitation, pg 29

59. During the walk through I noticed the location of the parking bollards is going to change with the new curb that is being installed, listed on ES2.0- note 13 it states to keep conduit and circuitry for reuse. That will not be applicable if the bollards have to be relocated. I also noticed that there is an existing condensing unit in the corner where the new addition is going to be built. I also had a question about the x110 area on ES2.0A.

My questions are:

· Should we add a cost refeeding bollards to their new location with the new curb?

· Should we include a cost for demo or relocation of electrical equipment and feeders affiliated with CU-3?

· Should we add more can lights for deduct alternate 1 in the x110 area, since there is a different fixture count on the base bid drawing?

VA Response – Contractor shall provide new conduit. Note was intended for contractor to use existing conduit until out of building.

CU-3 is outside scope of work. Do not demo or relocate.

Base bid canopy lighting has been revised, see revised sheet ES2.0
