About this file

This is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4 for Medical Gas Preventative Maintenance and Inspection Services at Erie VA Medical Center.

The amendment (0002, effective September 23, 2026) provides Questions and Answers responses to RFI 36C24426Q0958 and includes detailed attachments documenting medical equipment specifications. Key responses clarify that: (1) boom equipment includes eight Skytron units with specific model numbers and serial numbers; (2) medical air and vacuum source equipment nameplate data is provided in Excel documentation and a July 2026 Final Report; (3) the bulk liquid O2 system is being phased out and maintained under a separate bulk gas supplier contract, not included in this scope; (4) preventative maintenance follows an annual cadence with staff currently managing quarterly vacuum system inspections; (5) twenty zone valve boxes are located in patient care area hallways with access during normal business hours requiring coordination with the point of contact; and (6) boom inventory and equipment information is detailed in the response materials. The amendment requires offerors to acknowledge receipt prior to the specified deadline by completing Items 8 and 15 and returning copies, acknowledging receipt on each offer copy submitted, or submitting a separate letter or electronic communication referencing the solicitation and amendment numbers. Seven attachments are posted including system specifications for dental, SPS, and VA medical air systems, a penthouse oil-lubricated vacuum system, and the July 2026 final report.

2. Equipment nameplate data: The SOW lists qty only for the Medical Air Compressor, Medical Vacuum System, and the CO2/N2/N2O manifolds — manufacturer, model, and serial numbers. We need this to price PM kits and parts. Can the VA provide nameplate data or a recent PM/inspection report, or can we conduct a site visit before quoting?

Response: Bulk liquid O2 system tank and ancillary equipment are being phased out, this is currently maintained under a separate bulk gas supplier contract.

4. PM cadence: SOW section E references "annual" PM/inspections only. Please confirm there's no quarterly or semi-annual requirement for the vacuum system specifically (this varies site to site).

Response: The staff currently manage the quarterly inspections.
