About this file
This document is a service report from Barclay Water Management detailing the results of a routine boiler and water treatment service visit conducted at the VA Albany Stratton Building located in Albany, New York. The report indicates that Boilers 1 and 3 were offline for wet layup and inspection respectively, while Boilers 2 and 4 were online at the time of the visit. Testing showed elevated sulfite and polymer levels in Boiler 2 which was in standby mode. Polymer residuals were slightly elevated but acceptable in Boiler 4, which was in the lead. Hardness levels were minimal in the soft water and feedwater systems. The report recommends that routine water testing be performed between service visits to ensure proper performance of the water treatment program. This service aligns with federal contract opportunity number 36C24223Q1082 issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs for chemical treatment services at the VA Albany boiler-chiller plants.

Opening Comment I have calibrated the new in house Myron 6P meter for pH and conductivity with the supplied calibration standards. All bulk chemicals and testing reagent inventories are OK at this time.

How are we doing? Let us know at feedback@barclaywater.com. We recommend that our customers perform routine water testing between service visits, to assure the proper performance of the water treatment program on a continuous basis. For supplemented potable water systems, it’s important to remember that monochloramine, like all oxidants, will degrade over time.
Flushing may be required, under low/no flow conditions, to increase monochloramine level at distal points. BWF 409-7 REV. 05/24/2023
