About this file

This document is a service report for cooling tower maintenance at the VA Albany Stratton Building in Albany, New York. It provides details of chemical treatment and water quality testing conducted on July 28, 2023 for three cooling towers. Parameters tested include conductivity, chlorine, polymer, pH, and bacteria levels. Notes indicate the towers and chemical pumps were checked for operation and leaks. The strainer for towers 1 and 2 was dirty and cleaned. Future routine water testing between service visits is recommended to ensure proper performance of the water treatment program. The report also includes contact information for the service provider, Barclay Water Management, and instructions on monitoring and flushing distal outlets under low flow conditions to maintain adequate monochloramine residuals.

How are we doing? Let us know at feedback@barclaywater.com. We recommend that our customers perform routine water testing between service visits, to assure the proper performance of the water treatment program on a continuous basis. For supplemented potable water systems, it’s important to remember that monochloramine, like all oxidants, will degrade based on several factors, including but not limited to residence time, temperature, pH and presence of organic material. The iChlor system is designed to increase the monochloramine levels measured at the discharge of the unit. However, monochloramine residuals at distal outlets will vary based on the aforementioned factors in the building water system. Flushing may be required, under low/no flow conditions, to increase monochloramine level at distal points. REV. 07/05/2023
