About this file
This document is a Questions and Responses addendum for Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. IFB-26-00005 issued by Hillsborough County, Florida for the Southshore Library and Restroom Renovations project. The solicitation involves comprehensive library renovation work, including phased renovation of children's and adult library areas, restrooms, and related spaces. The project requires the contractor to box, move, and store approximately 15,000 children's collection items and 30,000 adult collection items in an air-conditioned bonded warehouse during different renovation phases. The contractor will be responsible for temporarily relocating library collections, furniture, and equipment, renovating specified areas, and reinstalling collections after each phase of construction.
The bid includes specific requirements for handling existing library assets, such as shelving from Estey Library Shelving, computer stations, art glass windows, and pendant lighting. The project is not a LEED-accredited project and does not fall under the Buy American Act or Davis Bacon Wage requirements. Builders risk insurance coverage is required for 100% of the building value, which is listed at $6,704,629. The contractor must provide temporary on-site field offices, manage noise constraints during construction, and handle all necessary permits and testing, including potential asbestos testing. The renovation will be completed in three phases, with the exact start date dependent on bid award, and all project documentation will be submitted electronically rather than in hard copy.
