About this file
The document is an Installation Specifications file for the Kenton County Airport Board (KCAB) related to an Upgrade Existing Credential & Security Access System project at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). The specifications outline critical installation requirements for a new access system, including multiple board installations with minimal downtime, strong coordination with key stakeholders (IT, P&D, Security, Facilities), and a phased cutover approach. The installation contractor must be manufacturer-approved, work between 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (with some evening and weekend exceptions), ensure all employees are badged, and provide a one-year installation warranty from the date of system completion.
Key technical requirements mandate that the existing system remain fully operational during transition, with the new system evaluated and commissioned immediately prior to service. The contractor is responsible for identifying and coordinating all airport operational impacts at least two weeks before installation, and must provide a detailed installation schedule with the proposal. Specific installation nuances include starting installations at the end of the loop and working up to minimize downtime, performing bridge cutover during evenings, and ensuring the system can integrate with the current SGI Matrix, LLC system. The project includes not just the system upgrade but also requires on-call service and maintenance for a 5-year period following installation completion.
