About this file
This document is a Florida Trench Safety Act Certification and Disclosure Statement from Hillsborough County, Florida, requiring contractors to acknowledge and comply with federal and state excavation safety standards. The form mandates that bidders disclose specific trench safety measures, including the quantity, unit of measure, unit cost, and extended cost for each safety technique they will employ during project excavation work.
The certification emphasizes that contractors are solely responsible for selecting and implementing appropriate trench safety systems based on available geotechnical information. While contractors must itemize their safety measure costs, the document explicitly states that these disclosed costs do not constitute the full extent of safety compliance obligations. Contractors are required to expend additional funds as necessary to meet all applicable safety standards, with no additional compensation from the county beyond what is initially proposed.
