About this file
This Fire Hydrant Flow Report documents a water flow test conducted by Rapid Fire Protection, Inc. on 1/29/2021 at Devils Tower National Monument. The report details a hydrant flow test involving two hydrants (A and B) located at the North Seasonal Housing and South Permanent Housing areas, both using AD/533-G/2008 model hydrants. Test results show a single 2.5" outlet flow test yielded 474 gallons per minute (gpm) with a pitot pressure of 8 and a residual pressure of 54, while a test with two 2.5" outlets resulted in 0 gpm. The test procedure involved attaching a gauge to Hydrant B to obtain static pressure, removing the cap from Hydrant A, fully opening the hydrant to clear debris, and recording pressure measurements during water flow.

Test Procedure:
(1) Attach the gauge to Hydrant (B) and obtain static pressure.
(2) Remove cap from Hydrant (A) and record nozzle coefficient.
(3) Fully open Hydrant (A) and allow water to flow to clear debris. Obtain pitot pressure in stream of water.
(4) While water is flowing from Hydrant (A), record residual pressure on gauge located at Hydrant (B).
