About this file
This document is a Warning Order (WARNO) from the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) detailing a mass casualty event involving six service members during a live fire exercise at Ft. Liberty, NC. The incident involves service members with varying degrees of injuries, including two with catastrophic life-threatening conditions, two with severe injuries including limb loss and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), two with non-life-threatening injuries, and one diagnosed with stage two lung cancer potentially linked to burn pit exposure.
The WARNO requires a comprehensive response from the Warrior Care Program (WCP), focusing on holistic care across Recovery, Rehabilitation, Reintegration, and Transition phases. Specific responsibilities are outlined for key personnel including Operations Support Specialists (OSS), Recovery Care Coordinators (RCCs), and Operations Case Coordinators (OCC). The response must detail communication protocols, patient coordination support, stakeholder engagement with military medical systems (DoD, VA, TRICARE), and integration of contract personnel into individual Recovery Care Plans. The document is classified as Controlled Unilateral Information (CUI) with Source Selection Information protections.
