NIGP 50535: Detergents, Synthetic

NIGP 50535 Detergents, Synthetic (Item) encompasses industrial laundry equipment maintenance and repair services as bought by state and local governments. Recent solicitations from County of Orange departments show that this code is being used to procure comprehensive preventive maintenance, emergency repair, and parts replacement for industrial-scale washers, dryers, extractors, and lint collectors serving correctional facilities, juvenile detention centers, and probation department operations. Work includes quarterly inspections, testing, cleaning, calibration, electrical verification, and 24/7 emergency response capabilities with technician arrival commitments. County of Orange Probation and Sheriff-Coroner departments are the primary repeat buyers in the available record, each soliciting multiple rounds of industrial laundry equipment maintenance services through their respective facilities.

The County of Orange in California dominates the recent activity under this code. Two representative opportunities illustrate the scope: County of Orange Probation Department issued IFB #057-3021101-VRV-2 (posted May 14, 2026, due May 19, 2026) for routine maintenance and repairs at the Youth Guidance Center and Juvenile Hall, with quarterly preventive maintenance and as-needed labor services priced across five time categories (Monday-Friday standard hours, Monday-Friday off-hours, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays); the Sheriff-Coroner Department issued a separate IFB (posted April 1, 2026, due May 28, 2026) covering the Central Men's Jail and James A. Musick Facility with a three-year contract term commencing February 22, 2026, and potential two-year renewal. Both solicitations offer five percent bid-price preference deductions for County of Orange Local Small Business (OCLSB) or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) certified bidders, with dual certification receiving eight percent preference. All bids are submitted electronically through the County's online procurement portal, and awards are made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
