About this opportunity
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) in Georgia is requesting bids on USDA commodity processing services under IFB 004-22, with the final bid submission deadline of September 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. EST (extended via Addendum 1 from the original September 21 deadline). A non-mandatory pre-bid conference call was held on August 27, 2021.
The scope encompasses processing 36 line items of USDA-commodity-based finished food products for child nutrition programs, including beef products (patties, sticks, chili, meatballs, shredded beef, taco filling, teriyaki nuggets), chicken products (breast filets, bone-in portions, nuggets, patties, tenders, taco filling), turkey products (deli slices, ham slices, taco meat), cheese sauces, stuffed sandwiches, and pasta dishes. Estimated quantities range from 500 to 3,700 cases per line item. All products must be Child Nutrition (CN) labeled and made with specified USDA commodity codes. Bidders must submit nutrition fact sheets and labels for each line item; samples are required for items specified in the bid cost form. Processing specifications include char-broiling, breading, seasoning, and freezing for various meat and cheese-based products. Weekly delivery to the CCPS Maintenance Warehouse at 218 Stockbridge Road, Jonesboro, Georgia is required after award notification for School Year 2021-22.
Bidders must complete the bid cost form with unit costs calculated on a per-serving basis, submit all 74 pages of the IFB with authorized signatures, and upload materials through the Clayton County Public Schools Bonfire portal. All costs on the bid cost form are inclusive and F.O.B.; the district bears no responsibility for charges not included in submitted bids. Questions were due September 7, 2021; Addendum 2 (Q&A), issued September 21, clarified specifications including BONFIRE submission requirements, corrected USDA codes for specific line items, and Fee-for-Service pricing structures. Cost adjustments are permitted after November 15, 2021, upon USDA approval of School Year 2022-23 Summary End Product Data Schedules.
