About this opportunity
Salt Lake City Corporation is soliciting an RFP for fire training tower maintenance services under SLCI27003, with proposals due August 13, 2026 and a non-mandatory site inspection on July 21. A single contract award is anticipated to the highest-scoring responsive and responsible offeror.
Mandatory minimum requirements include five years of experience performing similar work and precontract registration with the State of Utah Department of Commerce, Sam.gov, and E-Verify. The scope covers preventive and corrective maintenance on Kidde FireTrainer T2000 and O1000 Live Fire Training Systems at the five-story concrete training tower located at 1600 South Industrial Road. The facility contains four gas-fed interior props and approximately 20,000 square feet of usable training area, used approximately 100 days annually. The contractor must perform two mandatory preventive maintenance visits per year (January and July), each lasting approximately three days and including system evaluations, filter replacements, bearing lubrication, igniter and flame rod inspections, fuel control station maintenance, gas detection calibration, smoke generator adjustments, and battery replacement. The contractor bears full responsibility for all parts, materials, and labor for both preventive and corrective maintenance, must maintain all necessary licenses and permits, and must warrant all services for a minimum of one year from final payment. The contractor must hold comprehensive general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage.
The contract term is five years. Proposed pricing must include all costs associated with service delivery and be guaranteed for one year; price adjustments require thirty days' notice and Chief Procurement Officer approval. Cost evaluation comprises 30% of the final score; technical evaluation covers Qualifications, Technical Approach, and Project Management, each weighted at 20%, totaling 300 points with a 210-point minimum threshold for advancement. The lowest-cost offeror receives 128.6 cost points, with others receiving proportional points based on price variance. Offerors must RSVP for the site inspection by 3:00 PM on July 20, 2026, limited to three representatives per company.
