About this opportunity

TerraPower, LLC is seeking a supplier to support the Reactor Air Cooling (RAC) Pressure Drop Test for the Natrium Demonstration Project through RFP-2025-9827. The procurement involves designing, fabricating, and executing a comprehensive test program to measure pressure drop characteristics, with key deliverables including a Design and Manufacturability Review by two months After Receipt of Order (ARO), test system fabrication starting in January 2026, testing campaign initiation at five months ARO, and a final Test Report completion by July 2026. The project is categorized as Non-Safety Related with a Quality Level 3 (QL-3) designation, to be performed under a Department of Energy (DOE) Cooperative Agreement. Potential bidders must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders, with prohibitions on accessing project materials while traveling outside one's country of origin. The project involves technical testing for nuclear energy infrastructure, suggesting a preference for suppliers with advanced engineering capabilities and experience in precision testing environments. While specific award values are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project and the detailed technical requirements indicate a substantial and complex procurement. Suppliers must be prepared to provide a complete test system, including design, fabrication, testing, and reporting capabilities, with a focus on measuring pressure drop characteristics for the Natrium Demonstration Project. The procurement emphasizes rigorous documentation, quality control, and compliance with export control regulations, suggesting a highly specialized and technically demanding contract opportunity.
