About this opportunity

Sarasota County is seeking quotes for the Newtown Estates Park Asphalt Trail project through a Quick Quote (QQ) procurement solicitation numbered 2025-QQ-564. The project involves installing a new 1,600 linear foot, 8-foot wide asphalt trail connecting Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Newtown Boulevard within the Newtown Estates Park. Specific requirements include widening an existing 5-foot gravel and shell trail, using FDOT-approved Hot Mix Asphalt with a thickness of 1.5 to 2 inches, and compacting the surface using a minimum 3-ton vibratory roller. Trail ends will be flared to 16 feet wide, extending 12 feet from sidewalk connections. The contractor must reuse existing trail materials where feasible, relocate excess materials onsite as directed by the county, and ensure complete site cleanup and disposal of construction debris. The solicitation was released on October 20, 2025, with questions due by October 28, 2025, and final responses required electronically by October 30, 2025, at 2:30 pm through the ProcureNow electronic portal.

The procurement includes a maximum quote threshold of $50,000, with the award to be made to the responsive and responsible bidder providing the lowest total bid price. No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The contractor is prohibited from subcontracting any part of the work and must perform all tasks directly. Vendors must comply with state regulations, including E-Verify employment eligibility and specific insurance and cybersecurity standards. The project will be managed by the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department. Materials provided will be warranted for one year from the county's acceptance or the standard manufacturer's warranty, whichever is longer. Bidders are required to submit three references demonstrating similar service experience through the OpenGov Procurement platform, though no specific licensing requirements are detailed in the solicitation documents.
