About this opportunity
Seminole County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a qualified General or Building Contractor to execute a Master Services Agreement for Hurricane Window and Door Replacements (Project CC-6191-24/HSM) targeting fire stations throughout the county. The project requires commercial-style, hurricane-rated, impact-resistant window and storefront door unit replacements, specifically utilizing Eurocraft Industries Manufacturing brand windows (500 series commercial storefront HVHZ impact windows) and 600 series commercial storefront doors in bronze-colored aluminum frames. Contractors must provide complete removal and replacement services, including obtaining necessary permits, providing debris dumpsters, ensuring compliance with Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade Standards for High Velocity Hurricane Zones, and performing associated stucco, drywall, and paint repairs. The bid documents were released on September 18, 2024, with questions due by October 30, 2024, and responses required by November 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The Engineer's estimated project value is $300,000, with work to be completed over multiple years, allowing the county to request proposals from the awarded contractor for priority locations without repeated bidding.
The procurement explicitly encourages Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) to participate in the bidding process. Bidders must meet specific insurance requirements, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, business auto policy, and umbrella liability coverage with specified minimum limits. The contract includes a 10% maximum markup on materials, applicable to permits, windows, doors, dumpsters, and rental equipment. Contractors will be required to provide a two-year installation warranty in addition to the manufacturer's warranty, with work primarily completed during normal workdays (Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm). The agreement is structured as a three-year contract with potential for two successive one-year renewals, offering flexibility for the Seminole County Fire Department to address window and door replacement needs across multiple fire stations through a streamlined procurement approach. Contractors will be expected to coordinate installation dates with the county project manager and document and be responsible for any pre-existing property damage, ensuring the property is returned to its original condition upon project completion.
