About this opportunity

The Jordan School District issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) on March 9, 2026, for the comprehensive remodeling of portable classrooms at multiple locations throughout the district. The project encompasses demolition and reinstallation of lighting systems, audio enhancement equipment, projectors, intercom systems, fiber and data equipment, fire alarm systems, CCTV equipment, access control systems, and various building finishes including custom casework, ceiling systems, wall treatments, doors, and windows in compliance with the 2012 International Building Code and 2009 International Energy Conservation Code. Bidders must submit pricing for a base bid covering one portable classroom remodel plus three optional services: ceiling remodel, millwork remodel, and tackable wallboard remodel, with all pricing guaranteed for one year and subject to documented justification for any subsequent adjustments. Qualified contractors must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience as a licensed Utah contractor and must attend a mandatory pre-bid walk-through on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. MDT at West Jordan High School. Written questions must be submitted by Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. MDT, with sealed bids due by Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. MDT through the Utah Public Procurement Place (U3P) Bonfire portal. The contract shall commence upon bid acceptance and continue for one year with an option for up to four annual renewals, for a maximum five-year term. Award shall be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with the State of Utah Procurement Code (UCA Chapter 63G-6a) and applicable Utah Administrative Rules.

Bidders must complete and submit a Public Contract Boycott Restriction Statement certifying they are not engaged in economic boycotts as defined under Utah Code 63G-27, and all bids exceeding $50,000 require a bid bond equal to five percent of the total bid price from a corporate surety rated A-VIII or better by AM Best and licensed in Utah. Performance and payment bonds equal to the total bid price are required upon contract award for projects exceeding $50,000 prior to work commencement. The solicitation documents do not identify any set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, incumbent vendors, or specialized contractor classifications, nor do they specify a total project budget or award value range, requiring interested bidders to develop competitive pricing based on the detailed specifications and drawings provided. All construction materials are exempt from Utah sales tax under Utah Code 59-12-104, with tax exemption certificates available upon request. Contractors bear full responsibility for all labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance, with subcontractors required to be licensed as mandated by Utah State Law and subject to rejection by JSD if deemed unqualified. Liquidated damages are assessed at $500 per calendar day for missed completion deadlines, and the Jordan School District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities, split the award among multiple bidders if beneficial, and evaluate early payment discounts as part of its evaluation criteria.
