About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA VISN 7) is seeking a qualified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to perform a comprehensive medical gas systems renovation at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. The project involves replacing and upgrading aging medical gas equipment, including zone valve boxes, alarm panels, emergency oxygen connections, and service valves across multiple facility floors. The project will require careful coordination with hospital operations, with work to be performed after hours between 4:00 PM and 12:30 AM Monday through Friday to minimize disruption to medical center activities.
The contract is exclusively set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses under NAICS code 236220 with a small business size standard of $45 million. The project has an estimated construction magnitude between $5-10 million and includes a 500 calendar day performance period, with an anticipated Notice to Proceed around July 2025. The place of performance is the Birmingham VA Medical Center located at 700 S. 19th Street in Birmingham, Alabama 35233.
