About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration is seeking Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Maintenance and Repair Services for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System through solicitation 36C25625Q0685. This procurement covers comprehensive maintenance and repair services for fire protection systems across 15 buildings totaling approximately 65 floors, including an estimated 6,749 fire alarm devices, 4,000 sprinkler system devices, 815 fire/smoke dampers, 16 ANSUL kitchen suppression systems, and 12 fire line hydrants. Contractors must provide 24/7 emergency services with a 2-hour onsite response time, employ NICET Level III certified fire alarm technicians, and maintain compliance with NFPA and Joint Commission standards. The government will evaluate proposals based on three factors: Technical Capabilities, Experience, and Price, with technical and past performance considered more important than price. Following multiple amendments, quotes are now due electronically by July 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM Central Time, with questions accepted until July 1, 2025.

This solicitation is designated as a 100% Total Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 811310, with a size standard of $25 million. The contract includes a base period from August 11, 2025, through August 10, 2026, with four additional one-year option periods extending through August 10, 2030, for a total potential contract duration of five years. The contract allocates 570 hours per contract period for call-back services and includes a $25,000 annual parts rider for maintenance and repair activities. Services will be performed at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System located at 2400 Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a mandatory site visit conducted on June 24, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The procurement follows FAR Part 12 and Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items, with all communications directed to Contracting Officer Veronica Maskell at veronica.maskell@va.gov.
