About this opportunity
The 48th Contracting Squadron (United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa) is conducting market research to identify sources for backup generator maintenance and routine repair services at Royal Air Force Lakenheath and RAF Feltwell in the United Kingdom, with responses due by 1300 BST on 7 July 2026.
The procurement is not set-aside. Work encompasses preventative maintenance on approximately 30 to 40 backup generators at both bases, normal wear-and-tear repairs to ensure operational readiness, and repairs beyond minor repair parts and routine maintenance. The partial generator inventory spans 10 KW to 580 KW capacity units manufactured by Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson, Olympian, Kohler, and Volvo Penta, with maintenance frequencies ranging from semi-monthly to annual intervals depending on asset classification and location.
The contractor must comply with UFC 3-540-07 (Operation and Maintenance: Generators), all applicable United Kingdom laws and regulations, international agreements, and Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA). Preventative maintenance must follow UFC-specified frequencies, with monthly schedules submitted to the Contracting Officer's Representative at least 10 business days prior to month-end. Consumable depletions identified during inspection must be addressed within 48 hours. Supplemental work exceeding minor repairs requires immediate COR notification and a quotation with lead times, itemized materials with manufacturer part numbers, and labor cost breakdowns; the COR can approve quotes up to $10,000, and the Contracting Officer must approve amounts exceeding $10,000.
Interested firms must complete the Sources Sought Notice Questionnaire and submit responses electronically to Aurora Salazar-Alas (Contracting Officer) and Maisa Torquato (Contract Specialist). This notice does not constitute a formal solicitation, commitment, or Request for Proposal; no reimbursement applies for response costs. A formal solicitation with the complete Performance Work Statement will follow. NAICS code is 811310.
