About this file

This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) excerpt detailing generator maintenance and support services for Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE).

The contractor must perform preventative maintenance on generator systems and transfer switches in accordance with UFC 3-540-07, manufacturer manuals, and this PWS. Preventative maintenance must be conducted at frequencies specified in UFC 3-540-07, with the contractor coordinating monthly maintenance schedules with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and submitting the following month's schedule at least 10 business days prior to month-end. The contractor must request schedule changes at least 48 hours in advance via email; the COR can reject requests submitted under 48 hours notice, and changes require written COR approval. The contractor has 48 hours to fix or replace depleted consumables (filtration, fluids, lubricants, seals, belts, hoses, ignition components) identified during inspection. The contractor must repair nominal issues without affecting mission operations and immediately notify the COR of any repairs preventing generator operation during power loss. Within 2 business days, the contractor must provide written notification to the COR of proposed modifications, substantial repairs, or corrective actions, including issue description, location, and potential safety impact. Supplemental Work encompasses repairs exceeding minor repair parts and routine maintenance; the contractor must immediately notify the Contracting Officer (CO) when supplemental work is required and submit a quotation including lead times, detailed service descriptions, itemized materials breakdown with manufacturer part numbers and specifications, and itemized labor cost breakdowns. Quotations are valid for 90 calendar days from initial approval. The COR can approve quotes up to $10,000; the CO must approve quotes exceeding $10,000. The contractor cannot proceed with supplemental work until receiving written approval from the appropriate government official.
