About this opportunity

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), part of the Department of the Treasury, is seeking a contractor to perform comprehensive maintenance services for Material Lifting Devices, Weight Handling Equipment, and below-the-hook lifting devices at their Washington, D.C. facilities. The contractor must conduct OSHA and ASME-compliant regular cleaning, inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, load testing, and certification of cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment. This Request for Quotations (RFQ) requires offerors to submit technical approaches (limited to 15 pages), past performance documentation, and separate pricing quotations with no assumptions or exceptions permitted. The government will evaluate proposals using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procedures based on three factors: technical approach, past performance, and price. Following multiple amendments that provided site visit information, equipment lists, and Q&A responses, the final proposal submission deadline was extended to September 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET.

This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 811310 with a size standard of $12.5 million, structured as a firm fixed-price contract with a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for a potential total duration of five years. The incumbent contractor is Crane Technologies operating under contract number 2031ZA20P00883. The contract covers approximately 64 pieces of equipment including overhead cranes, table lifts, hoists, auto lifts, and various specialized lifting devices with capacities ranging from 1/4 ton to 5 tons, requiring 12 monthly inspections annually. Services will be performed at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Main and Annex facilities located at 14th Street S.W., Washington, D.C. 20228, with the government providing on-site test weights and equipment inventory spanning multiple building sections including the Ink Mill, Machine Shop, Power Plant, Loading Dock, and Plating Line areas.
