About this file
This document is a Wage Rates specification for the City of Waxahachie, Texas, specifically for the North Grove Park project. The document details prevailing wage rate requirements for contractors and subcontractors working on the project, mandating compliance with V.T.C.A., Government Code, Chapter 2258. Contractors must pay workers the stipulated rates outlined in Section 2 of the contract documents, with overtime and legal holiday rates set at one and one-half times the basic hourly rate.
The specification includes provisions for City oversight, including the right to conduct employee interviews and request payroll information to ensure wage compliance. Contractors found in violation of the wage rate requirements will face financial penalties of $60 per laborer, workman, or mechanic for each calendar day of non-compliance. Additionally, contractors violating these provisions may be deemed ineligible to bid on or receive additional work during the subsequent calendar year, serving as a significant deterrent for non-compliance with the established wage standards.
