1. Swingspace Modular Trailer phase, please confirm onsite work is to only occur between 7/5/16 and 8/1/16?
Response: Swingspace trailer on-site work has been removed from the contract. See attached amendment.
2. Please provide documentation related to existing trailers that are to be assigned to the contractor, to include what right, title and interest J&J Contractors, Inc. has in the trailers, and any inspection documentation and/or certificates of occupancy and compliance. Confirm that the continued use of the trailers will be at no cost to the Primary School contractor and that the existing trailers are free of defects deemed to be detrimental to their continued use. Please also indicate whether the existing trailers meet the requirements for electrical power, provisions for data and communications wiring, and air conditioning/heating.
Response: See attached amended specification section 13 42 00.
3. Specification section 07 21 13 - 3.5.2 indicates under slab insulation is to extend 3’ horizontally under the slab and turn up at slab edge for the thickness of the slab. The numerous details on drawings A-501 through A-508 indicate a horizontal dimension of 2’ and do not show the insulation to turn up at the slab edge.
Response: Provide 2” Insulation 24” horizontal/vertical. Refer to structural foundation/footing elevation for insulation heights. See detail 8/A501 for reference. See attached amendment for revision to Spec Section 07 21 13 BOARD AND BLOCK INSULATION.

Response: The original 31 trailers installed for the Middle School were manufactured by NRB Inc, Modular Building Systems of Grimsby, Ontario Canada.
The 6 additional trailers installed for the Primary School classrooms were manufactured by Miller Structures Inc. of Bennington, Vermont.
The vendor subcontractor to the Middle School Contractor is Vanguard (152 Sylvan St. Fl 3, Danvers, MA 01923)
7. Will the Primary School contractor be responsible for leasing the 31 existing and 6 new trailer facilities until 27 June 2016? Please provide the name of the company and a contact person for the trailer company that is supplying the existing Middle School

AISC P1, P2, P3 or SSPC QP3 certified fabricators in this area.
Response: See amended specification 05 12 00. We have determined not to waive the AISC paint requirements.
11. Spec section 06 20 00 paragraph 2.8.5.1 states Plam casework to be custom grade, spec section 06.41.16 paragraph 1.5.1 states Plam cabinets to be Premium grade. Please advise.
Response: Provide premium grade for millwork items. See attached amendment revising Section

Should we provide this?
Response: Yes, Contractor to relocate table from the temporary school.
17. Site plan ES-102 references panelboard PL1, panelboard PL1 says it is located in site enclosure, site enclosure does not show panelboard PL1. Please clarify the location of panelboard PL1 as several pole fixtures and option #13 are related to this panelboard.
Response: Panel PL1 is existing and is located in an exterior enclosure adjacent the existing Transformer TPL1 as indicated on plans ES101 and ES102 in the NNW corner of the temporary school site.
18. Panel PL1 shows up on E-702 one line. Please clarify if this an existing panel or is required to be installed new per this project.

Ductbank B terminates at the Trailer service panels.
21. Please clarify what the dotted lines in different coloration mean on the site electrical drawings. As the Legend does not provide a clear delineation.

Please confirm that the one year warranty for playground equipment will begin to run upon their initial use at the temporary school, and will not otherwise be subject to the warranty for temporary facilities under Section 13 42 00 (the total time of use of the temporary facility).
Response: See attached revised drawings. Playground equipment is no longer to be relocated from the temporary trailer facility to the new Primary School.
33. Drawing T-601 Temporary Trailer Riser Diagram calls for 2 Fibers & a CAT3 50 Pair, but I can't find anything showing an existing pipe run or anything requiring an additional pipe run on any contract drawings? This info will be needed to determine lengths of Fiber & CAT3 as well as cost for additional pipe work if necessary.

39. Please clarify if we are responsible for only six new panelboards coming from existing trailer panelboards.
Response: All modifications related to the temporary trailers have been deleted from the project including work to provide 6 new panelboards. Sheet E-702 is deleted as part of this amendment.
40. Do we need to carry the 6.25% Massachusetts sales tax on all material purchased for this project?
Response: See Clause 52.229-3(h). The Government will furnish evidence appropriate to establish exemption from any Federal, State, or local tax when the Contractor requests such evidence and a reasonable basis exists to sustain the exemption. Additionally, Contractors are also responsible for the applicability and reporting of any Federal, State or local tax requirements.
41. Can you clarify the technical factor requirements on a "summary section" and how it relates to the key point bullets? Is it your intent to have an upfront summary for each technical factor in bullet form and then lead into the written narratives? The RFP states that we should "reference supporting narrative in the Section and subsequent Sections where relevant." Are these references related to the bullets?
Is this what you're looking for in each section?
Technical Section I Factor I: Technical Experience
