TEST PLAN FOR TEST RECORD
ATEC Project No.:
XXXX–XX–XXX–XXXXX–XXXXX
Date(s) of Test: From XX Month Year – To
XX Month Year
Type Test and Item: Authority:
Test Plan No.:
1. TEST ITEM(S)
List all items being tested and describe briefly, including such information as model, part number, drawing number, lot number, serial number, Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) test identification number (TIIN), and modification(s). Identify whether they are ammunition or components, weapons, armor, parachute types, high- or low-velocity parachutes, unmanned aerial vehicles, or wheel/track vehicles. Place photograph of item under test within or under this section so that the photograph appears on this first page of the plan. See an example in figure 1-1.
Figure 1–1. (Test Item Name)
2. SUPPORTING MATERIEL, FACILITIES, AND INSTRUMENTATION
List supporting materiel, facilities, and supporting equipment in the following sequence, as applicable:
a. Primary supporting materiel(s): Name the aircraft, the weapon, the wheel/track vehicle or other primary supporting materiel—its manufacturer (serial) number and its YPG assigned
TIIN number as appropriate.
b. Secondary supporting materiel and personnel: Name the ground equipment, forklift, pallets, parachutes, vehicle pullers and trailers, ammunition—its serial number and its YPG assigned TIIN number as appropriate.
c. Testing Position: Name the drop zone, testing tracks, testing fields, or firing positions by name and site location as appropriate.
d. Facilities: Name the supporting facilities by building number and location.
e. Instrumentation: Name the instrumentation, its trade name, its capability, and its unique identifier number.
3. TEST OBJECTIVES
Briefly state the overall purpose of the test.
4. DETAILS OF TEST
Begin this section with an introduction, in sufficient detail, to describe test phase, if appropriate, preparation, and the procedures that will be used to conduct the test. If the test is a multi-phase test, a VISIO flowchart will be inserted here to show the flow for each test item by its YPG TIIN (if a YPG TIIN is not assigned, use the manufacturer serial number (SN)).
Account for all test items and show final disposition of each test item.
State the procedures. For example:
Ammunition Preparation personnel will inspect 80 (test item name) (TIIN 1F–80F) and
80 (test item name) (TIIN 1–80) for damage. They will remove the existing (test item name) from the (test item name) and will install the (test item name) to the (test item name).
Rigging personnel will rig 25 (test item name) (TIIN 1F–25F) in the container delivery system configuration in accordance with Field Manual (FM) 4–20–103 (enclosure 3, reference 4). Aircrews will then deploy the payloads from 25,000 feet Mean Sea Level at airspeeds of 130–150 knots indicated airspeed. They will conduct two lifts with four passes each to deploy the payloads.
Conditioning Chambers personnel will condition two (test item name) (TIIN 1 and 2) and
40 (test item name) (TIIN 1F–40F) at 22 degrees Celsius (°C) for 24 hours prior to testing.
Conditioning Chambers personnel will condition two (test item name) (TIIN 3 and 4) and
40 (test item name) (TIIN 41F–80F) at 56 °C for 24 hours prior to testing.
The track crew will set the (test item name) (TIIN 41F–80F) to the desired stop mode. The driving crew will test the (test item name) (TIIN 3 and 4) in six 100– by 100–meter fields located
183 to 7,045 meters from Zone 1 and Zone 2.
5. DATA REQUIRED
Each data set’s required measurement units (as defined by the customer) will be listed in this section. Statement of conversion method between inch-pound units and SI units will be specified. Significant figures will be specified. Ranges for tolerances will be stated. Personnel groups responsible for measurement conversion will be stated.
Data requirements will be stated (i.e., surface grade, speed and velocity, angles, round-by-round, reflectometer readings, pressure, torque, group field plots, meteorological, frequency, impact, wind speed, high altitude pressure, or altitude).
Use standard Department of Defense forms. The test officer may design unique forms for data presentation when standard Department of Defense forms do not fit data collection and analysis needs. Such forms, if necessary for consistent use, must later route through proper
Department of Defense form approval processes.
