About this file
This is a U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (AVCOE) memorandum detailing the fiscal year 2026 holiday observances, Days of No Scheduled Activities (DONSA), and training holidays for Fort Rucker. The document outlines 11 public holidays including Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Labor Day, along with corresponding DONSA dates. The holiday season is specified as 20 December 2025 - 03 January 2026, with staff offices remaining operational at supervisors' discretion and mission requirements, except for full closures on 25 December 2025 and 01 January 2026.
The memorandum provides additional guidance for training holidays, which will be observed at Brigade/Garrison Commanders' discretion, with an emphasis on maximizing soldier rest and recovery while maintaining operational readiness. It also includes specific provisions for Saturday training days related to the IERW Optimization training plan, with the 110th Aviation Brigade required to notify AVCOE G3 about aircraft or simulator availability. Supervisors are instructed to conduct pre-holiday safety briefings, and unit closure reports must be submitted to key leadership personnel by 1700 hours on the first duty day after returning to work.
