Facilities Clearance Requirement for
Common Robotic System (Individual) Increment I (CRS(I))
Product Manager (PdM) Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) presently forecasts releasing the Request for Proposal (RFP) for CRS(I) early to mid, Third Quarter of FY17. In order to give all prospective offerors the best opportunity to submit a proposal, the purpose of this notice is to advise that a Facility Clearance (FCL) at the SECRET level will be required prior to award. The below procedures may be utilized for sponsorship by any interested sources that do not currently hold an FCL, but intend to submit a proposal in response to the RFP once it is released.
To request sponsorship for an FCL, an offeror shall:
1. Review both the FCL Orientation Handbook and the FCL Sponsorship Letter from this announcement (attached below).
2. Complete Sections 1-13 of the FCL Sponsorship Letter and return via electronic mail to usarmy.detroit.acc.mbx.wrn-crsi@mail.mil.
Offerors are advised that simply requesting sponsorship through this process does not ensure that the Defense Security Service (DSS) will complete processing of the request in time to grant a FCL prior to the RFP closing. The Government recommends that interested vendors begin this process immediately, as it could take 2-3 months or longer. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee approval from DSS.
Additional information regarding obtaining an FCL may be viewed at: http://www.dss.mil/isp/fac_clear/per_sec_clear_proc_faqs.html
Submit any questions regarding this announcement via electronic mail to: usarmy.detroit.acc.mbx.wrn-crsi@mail.mil.
