About this file
This is a Grounds Maintenance Questions and Answers document clarifying contract requirements for a federal grounds maintenance solicitation.
The document addresses three key service areas. For weed control, herbicide application is restricted to specific areas including the perimeter fence line, mulch zones, sidewalks, and rock beds, with application permitted directly on fence lines. Regarding annual plantings, the contractor bears all financial and labor responsibilities for these tasks, which are categorized as "unpriced" items requiring separate quotations rather than being included as regular activities with established quantities, as referenced in section 5.11 Miscellaneous of the Performance Work Statement. For snow plowing operations, Priority 1 routes identified by blue markings on provided maps will remain unchanged even during major storm events when the contractor is requested to assist with depot parking lots and roads on a per-push basis; contractors must split resources to support the mission while maintaining Priority 1 route commitments.

Grounds Maintenance Questions and Answers 3
Question 1: Weed Control - Fence Line - Are we spraying herbicide on just the fenceline itself? Would we spray 5 ft on both sides?
Answer 1: - Herbicide application is restricted to specific areas, including the perimeter fence line, mulch zones, sidewalks, and rock beds, thereby permitting its use directly on the fence line.
Question 2: Annual Plantings - Are we factoring in plant material cost for each spring in terms of annual plantings? If so, how many annuals are required for the property?
Answer 2: -The PWS clarifies that while the contractor bears the financial and labor responsibilities for annual plantings, these tasks are categorized as "unpriced" items, requiring separate quotations rather than being considered as regular activities with established quantities. See 5.11 Miscellaneous
Question 3: Snow Plowing Figure 7 - In the event of a major storm event and we are asked to help plow the depot parking lots and roads on a per push basis, Would the priority level change for our current responsibilities?
Answer 3: -Priority 1 routes will remain unchanged, as indicated by the blue markings on the maps and will have to split resources to support the mission.
