About this file
This document contains questions and answers related to a federal construction contract solicitation. The solicitation is for repair and renovation work at Building 420, a dining and medical training facility, at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Tennessee. The work includes following the provided plans and specifications. The North American Industry Classification System code is 236220 and the small business size standard is $39.5 million in average annual receipts. The construction project value is between $5 million and $10 million. A pre-bid conference site visit is encouraged. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses. Award will be made to the responsible bidder providing the most advantageous price. Funds may become available by 30 September 2021.
The questions and answers provide clarification such as confirming full size drawings are available, volumes 1 and 2 do not exist, no asbestos or lead paint is present due to the building age, photos are allowed at the site visit, and the bid submission must be hard copy rather than electronic. Wage determinations are included in the solicitation. Options do not need to be awarded on the initial date and the contractor role for design quality control mainly applies if design work is included.
